teaching methods

Teaching very young learners is what we’re the best at!

Our self-designed, customised curriculum

Our classes are conducted based on our own curriculum - a compilation of the best, proven methods and teaching ideas. Our programs are prepared by qualified professionals - graduates of pedagogical, linguistic and psychological studies.

Qualified teachers & academic support

We hire only teachers with passion and vocation - the priority of recruitment in speak:art is an excellent rapport with children and outstanding knowledge of a target language.

Our self-designed, customised teaching materials

There are no flashcards on the market that would meet our high requirements, so we decided to create our own! Children just love our cards based on intriguing photographs that raise their interest in the surrounding world and additionally develop aesthetic sensitivity.

In October 2022 our project A New Way of Teaching received the prestigious European Language Label certificate awarded by the European Commission.

ELL is a distinction for innovative teaching techniques that helps promote leading methodology and didactic achievements in Europe. Our kindergarten classes are always conducted based on this approach!

Our teaching methods

6

Engaging games and activities

We know that children learn the best through play! Movement is a fixed element of our classes. Static and dynamic activities interchange, leaving no room for boredom!
2

Vocabulary practice only in an attractive way

We have a secret list of 101 games and activities to study vocabulary, because only a phrase repeated 101 times will be remembered by the learner and included in their active vocabulary bank.
3

Booktelling & storytelling

Attractive books for children in a foreign language are a regular part of our classes. Through storytelling and literature, we provide children with contact with living language and develop their social competences.
7

Songs and games with rhythm

There would be no speak:art lesson without theme songs and playing music! Children learn new vocabulary by singing songs, while simple, matching gestures additionally facilitate remembering through kinetic stimulation.

Our didactic guidelines

4

Inquiry based learning

We allow children to discover the world and acquire knowledge on their own. We are strongly inspired by the IB approach. We support children's natural curiosity and inquisitiveness!
5

Supporting learner’s autonomy

We want to shape independent kids and young adults. We entrust as many tasks and activities during classes as possible to the little ones.
1

100% in English

We know that language exposure is the key to success in early language learning. We conduct our classes in a full language immersion.

Routines and carefully planned class time

Surprises are great, but it's the repeated routines that make kids feel safe and confident. That's why during speak:art classes there is time for both!

That’s not the end! Furthermore…

7

Global
reading

We care about developing reading skills Our flashcards come in sets with word cards presenting a given expression in English, thanks to which students become familiar with the visual representation of English words from an early age.
8

Student’s portfolio

The heart of a speak:art lesson is always the creative play on the carpet, but from time to time we summarize the acquired knowledge by filling engaging worksheets compatible with our teaching programs. Children collect their worksheets throughout the year and in June they can show off an impressive portfolio of their learning journey.
9

Cultural weeks

Four times a year our students go on a journey to learn the culture of countries where English is spoken - we visit Great Britain, the United States, Ireland and Australia.
